Bishop Malloy Celebrates Easter, Our 'Act of Faith'

Date: April 20, 2014
By: Thomas Mark

With crowded churches throughout the diocese, Bishop Malloy celebrated the most joyous and hopeful day in the Catholic faith at the Cathedral of St. Peter on Sunday. Easter marks the culmination of Holy Week and the Easter Triduum and celebrates Jesus’s resurrection from the dead and new life in heaven.

Bishop Malloy reminded us that this day is the whole reason for the faith of the Church. “If it is true, if we give our faith to this, our life suddenly has meaning…All of this, as an act of faith, joins us to Christ. It explains to us why we go through everything we do, what we were made for, and who is waiting for us with his loving care.”
