Cultures Join in Praying the Living Rosary

The International Living Rosary celebrated its 25th anniversary at the Cathedral of St. Peter in Rockford, Aug. 17. According to Angie Kelly, event chairperson, it has been held at several different parishes throughout its history, always on a Sunday near the feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The Diocesan Council of Catholic Women sponsors the event, at which speakers of any language are welcome to come to offer prayer in their native tongues. This year languages included Polish, Spanish, Latin, Italian, Filipino, Pangasinan (a Filipino dialect) and English.
